Our Mission is to increase awareness, education, prevention, and treatment of perinatal mental health issues affecting individuals, their families, and support systems in all areas of Kentucky.
Our Vision is that all pregnant and postpartum individuals and their families, including those from underserved communities, will have access to perinatal support, mental health/healthcare providers, education, and resources to improve overall well-being through advocacy, training, and increased awareness of perinatal mental health.

Co-Chair
“I am honored to serve the women and families of Kentucky. We are gathering a network of providers and advocates who are creating changes across our community. You are not alone in this journey. ”
Secretary
“I fully believe that parenting is the hardest job anyone can take on, even under the most ideal of circumstances. When those circumstance are less than ideal, when there are complications, mental health struggles, isolation, etc. it can feel exponentially more overwhelming. We were never meant to parent alone; it takes a village to raise a child and to raise a mama! Sometimes it can be hard to ask for help, I have found it to be one of the bravest things that we can do for both ourselves and our kiddos.”
Treasurer
The intense isolation and sadness I felt after experiencing years of infertility, a miscarriage and postpartum anxiety have given me a unique opportunity to empathize with the families that I am working with. After being introduced to Postpartum Support International and completing their advanced psychotherapy training as well as learning of the wealth of support available, I felt overjoyed to have the opportunity to share these resources with other families. I am incredibly passionate about supporting families so no one else ever feels isolated or has painful feelings in their maternal life experiences.
Advocacy Lead
My life changed in a big way when I became a mama in 2021. I saw the gaps in care that I received in my own experiences in pregnancy and postpartum, and began 2022 ignited with a desire to focus my practice on perinatal mental healthcare and lactation counseling. While I am now an Ohio resident, eastern Kentucky is and always will be my home. I am proud to serve and advocate for the mothers and birthing persons of Kentucky as a Board Member for PSI-KY.
Committee Coordinator
I believe that ensuring the health and wellbeing of perinatal individuals can support the long-term health of any family. From personal experience and working in various healthcare settings, I recognized inequality and lack of support for people who are trying to conceive, pregnant, and/or postpartum. This health disparity ignited a passion to promote informed treatment and support within my community and beyond. I am thrilled to be part of PSI, and I dedicate myself to developing a strong collaborative and empowering relationship with my patients and colleagues!
At-Large Board Member
My name is Nicole, and I am a proud mother of two daughters! A fashion major, and Chicago Native. I have lived in Louisville for almost four years now and so excited to have joined a team of women to start the first Chapter here in Kentucky with PSI! I love connecting people to resources that are available to help make life just a little easier! I enjoy anything mother nature related, yoga, or simply being mindful and aware of the World around me. People coming together to help each other is the most wonderful thing I have experienced , besides having my two children. I strive to be a part of that as best I can and so happy to be introducing myself as part of PSI and all the great it has to offer!
Chapter Liaison
As a Human Resources professional, I have a passion to influence parental benefits within the technology sector and provide better support to working moms and the overall family unit in today’s society. I didn’t know it at the time, but I struggled with PPA following the birth of my second son, but I had no resources for help as I returned to work and navigated that journey alone. I joined PSI about a year later to help change the narrative, to build a community where women and find the resources they need during some of the most challenging moments of their lives.
PSI relies on members and contributions from the community to promote awareness, prevention, and treatment of maternal mental health issues related to childbearing.
All memberships are tax-deductible.
There are many ways to help and volunteer with PSI, and we would love to have you join us. All are welcome at PSI! Survivors, mental health professionals, doulas, clinicians, and anyone else interested and passionate about raising awareness about perinatal mental health can volunteer through the chapter in order to give back to their local communities.
PSI Chapters are made up of a variety of local advocates and stakeholders who further the mission of PSI on a grassroots level. Chapters work on a wide range of initiatives that they develop based on their communities needs. While some chapters may focus on passing legislation, others may create a robust network of peer support groups, and all chapters provide scholarships for PSI trainings and events.
